Ed found his passion for construction in 1988 in the high school vocational trade program and then went on to college to earn his Associates Degree in construction management. After completing his degree, Ed worked with old school carpenters using traditional methods where the focus was on quality craftsmanship, best practices and the right way to get a job done without cutting corners but still keeping the budget of the customer in mind. After spending a number of years in New York refining his skills, Ed moved to the Richmond area and spent a number of years working with large builders and remodelers in the Richmond area. Working as a superintendent with the large scale home construction companies and as a foreman with multiple remodeling companies allowed Ed to gain more experience with estimating jobs and scheduling subcontractors as well as allowing him to refine his skills in customer service and communication. During his time in Virginia, Ed maintained his small business venture by supplementing his income with side remodeling jobs. Finally, pursuing his long term goal, he decided it was time to refocus his skills and experience on developing his company full time.
